After studying law at Leuven, Cecilia began her career with a two-year internship at the Brussels Bar. Her interest in the arts then led her to conduct research on artists’ rights at the Vlaams Theater Instituut. She also conducted research in this domain at the Free University of Brussels and collaborated on a series of roundtables with creative and performing artists before contributing to the drafting of a law on the status of the artist. She then published a book on the legal framework for the performing arts and helped to set up an office to defend artists’ rights at European and global level – the Association of European Performers’ Organisations.
Cecilia then took on the administrative and financial management of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker’s renowned dance school, PARTS. She also helped set up and manage a recycled products catalogue before specializing as a paralegal in legal formalities for business at different institutions.
Since joining Avens Brussels in 2016, Cecilia has contributed to the growth of the firm. In her current role, she is responsible for office management, accounting, human resources management and provides legal assistance as a paralegal. She brings more than 34 years of experience in a wide range of legal and administrative functions.
